Sony Movie Studio HD Get it now!

Considering the price tag, I can't complain too much. However, it's buggy, shuts down sometimes when trying to import files, and overall I found it user unfriendly (despite Sony's attempt to make it easier with the tutorials). The tutorials are a nice addition, though they were not complete on many occasions and I had to just learn by trial and error.

My main complaint: Uploading Quicktime files was a nightmare until I found the answer after HOURS of searching on Sony's forums for this product. It turns out there is a known issue with Aiptek video files in that when you drag and drop the file into the timeline, the sound does not come over with it. The solution is quite simple to fix: Simply import your video from your camera or card, then rename it as an mp4 file. For example: file0001.mov renamed to file0001.mp4. Yep, that simple. Now drag and drop, and VOILA! there's the sound. It took me hours to find the answer for that, so I hope this helps someone.

The nice thing about this program is that there are tons of plug ins and features to add to your video (after your figure out how to do it), and I'm still in the process of perfecting this. It's definitely not a program with beginner in mind. However, once I look past the fact that it shuts down sometimes when importing, I like the program.

Rendering files as HD is time consuming unless you have a super fast or quad core computer. I have a dual core and it takes approximately 3-15 minutes of rendering per 1 minute of video (you do the math). Once it's rendered though, the video is spectacular. You have several options in which to render a file which is nice: non HD, 720 25fps, 720 30fps, 1080p 30 fps, etc.

Again, for the price tag, I can live with the bugginess. Would I recommend it? Not to a beginner or novice just looking to make simple movies.Get more detail about Sony Movie Studio HD.

Dazzle Video Creator Plus Order Now

I use this exclusively for video game capture to post on Youtube. The capture card does record in pretty good quality, but it doesn't even look close to what it looks like on my TV. The editing software is nice and easy to use, but they make you pay extra to unlock the extra features such as HD recording and editing.

However, in almost completely random instances, the recording audio/video syncing will get messed up and/or VERY choppy. If someone is saying a sentence, the words will become a garbled up bunch of gibberish and when it's a video sequence of someone walking from one building to another, the video will freeze for a few seconds, then it'll look as if the person warped several yards, then it'll freeze, and the person will warp again. This can end up making videos unwatchable, which is unacceptable.

If you play FPS games regularly you know that there are those times when you do some amazing, "once in a lifetime" things, like dropping 5-6 guys, one after the other with a pump shotgun. Or shooting a rocket launcher and taking out 5+ people at once. If the video skips at these parts, you will never, ever be able to see it again.... and it will make your blood boil. Some people mention that when the video takes too long, the syncing gets choppy... but every single one of my videos is 10 minutes or less - each round is 10 minutes in Modern Warfare 2, and they usually end a couple of minutes before the time limit is up.

I upload the good videos to Youtube. However, the default preset for recording format is either AVI or MPEG 1/2, and I prefer WMV over the both of them. Another thing to note is that AVI files usually don't upload to Youtube very well.... sometimes they won't upload at all. I have converted from AVI to WMV (which I have always used for Youtube uploads) and the built-in format converter results in poorer quality than if I converted it using Windows Movie Maker, not to mention its a hassle.

There are many times when I wish I hadn't bought this.... and that's never a good sign. Whenever I actually capture something without flaws, it's more of a relief than anything.

EDIT: Make sure you also keep an eye on the preview screen. It shows a delayed but semi-accurate version of what you're recording. I recorded almost an hour's worth of good footage, then when I went to my computer to edit the clips, NOTHING was saved in my file! Once again, this product has infuriated me.Get more detail about Dazzle Video Creator Plus.

Audio Cleaning Lab 16 Right now

I am really impressed with the performance of this program. I have been recording records to cd for the past several weeks and have found the reproduction of highs and lows is just great. Although I don't do any minute changes in the process, getting great sounding cd's is automatic without having to manually making changes. The manual is pretty complete, and I certainly would recommend this program to anyone.Get more detail about Audio Cleaning Lab 16.

Lowest Price PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D

I got this purely for the aspect ratios that Arcsoft TotalMedia Theatre 3 Platinum can't do as well as better features than PowerDVD 7 which came with my PC bluray player. However Cyberlink has turned into Nero software over the past few years. Once reliable but now becoming all about commercialism even with the paid version! Why does it need Video & Music tabs? Why can't I disable them in the setup configuration? Why must I have to sign up for MoovieLive? Why must I have a persistent? Why must the default skin wallpaper be pure commercialism rather than style? Makes me think I'm looking at their website. Why is the timestamp so tiny that I can barely see it? And why is the UI so damn ugly? Honestly its hard to imagine how they managed to produce something this bad & charge so much

Arcsoft TTM3 seems like a breath of fresh air compared to this especially since you can change the skin colour on-the-fly without having to download a new skin. If you want the 3D feature, hold off until Arcsoft releases their 3D supported program later this year & unlike Cyberlink they usually have promotion sales quite often so you can save 15-30%.Get more detail about PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D.
