The sample clips included are so cheesy/tacky as to be nearly useless. Believe me, you'll be hard pressed to create anything with them as presented. However, the creation/editing tools are the best I've ever tried with any music creation software, at any price level - they're extremely easy and fun to use, so I recommend for any user at the hobby level of music production. Plus you can create your own synths and sound clips to use over and edit.. So composing original songs is a blast!

And with the included demos, you'll see it's possible to create some very good music with this (although, you'll need a fair amount of practice). I also recommend you install the ASPI drivers and burn to CD-R through the program to get the best results. CONS-
The registration process was rather annoying.
You may have a bit of latency if you aren't running a higher end computer with some decent processing power.
Includes many vintage synth sounds but not a whole lot of new school ones (for dance and techno).

Despite having latency, you can adjust the bit rate and drastically reduce lag (at a price for sound quality of course).

Despite lacking new school sounds you have the option to edit and modify each sound in any way shape or form. I just didn't feel like editing every sound and got sick of the latency (my fault really) so I bought a Korg and I'm switching over to Mac.

FINAL THOUGHTS-
overall a GREAT beginner's set if not the best for MIDI recording/ performance.
The reason why I didn't rate this lower is because the quality of the MIDI controller more than makes up for the mediocre software (great if you know what you're doing and have a decent computer). I have had this program since 2001, and I LOVE the features. I recently purchased 2 different CD&DVD LabelMaker Programs; Click N' Design and Memorex CD & DVD LabelMaker (Label Refills). Though the program may not be what I had expected, I love the 3D graphics and landscapes from the program, however, I can't achieve some of the graphic design formats I'd like to.

Professional CD Label Kit is a Great Find. Import your own photo or use the spectacular graphics that grab and capture you. Plus with GlobalStar's CD Label Kit you don't have to worry about using a particular type of refill paper. Which seems to be my problem.

With the other programs, you need "special" label refill paper, and it's kind of difficult to import graphics from GlobalStar CD Label Kit to their program at times.

If you like designing and graphics then this SOFTWARE is what YOU NEED, besides one could use the labels from Global Software, but it's difficult to use labels from other establishments with Global Star labels.

I love this program. I love it so much, that I had to order extra labels in less than 2 months. Global star provides so much more than the competition. Why? because you get the software with the program, the Label Applicator and 50 White Labels. Yeah some of the others may have some of the same features, but you get additional clip art images and photo objects as well.

I have been using WavePad for 2 years and love it. I use it primarily to edit and create sound files and tracks for voice messaging systems, both business and home (obviously more fun making them for home users ;-) It is an easy to use product for the beginner, but also includes features that allow you to apply professional filters, effects, noise reduction, etc. to get the best out of your recording for the situation. I recently upgraded to the latest version when I saw they have added sound effects (and music) libraries. The upgrade was seemless right over the top of my current installation. The libraries are so cool - there must be at least 1000 sounds effects to use in your audio files (and music including publisher and artist but I am basically an effects guy if they are cool) and they are across a very wide variety of categories, so everyone could find something they like. Order Adobe Soundbooth CS4 [OLD VERSION]

Right now I am VERY frustrated. Soundbooth CS4 Version 2.0.1 has (after nearly 20 hours of audio editing) corrupted my native Soundbooth .asnd file for a client's project. This translates into a boat load of time and money lost for me and an explanation to my client as to why I can't deliver their project this week. This is the second time this has happened... the last time I only lost 5 hours of work and blamed it on the fact that I did not have the most recent update of Soundbooth installed.

The error I get is "Soundbooth unsupported format or damaged" and the file size automatically defaults to 4gb. The file is unrecoverable as Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 gives the same error when I try to bring it in there. Yeah, then Premiere Pro does not function right until reboot. This has happened to two files that were around 1 hour in total length this morning and 1 last week.

Also, if you are looking to Soundbooth as a royalty-free score creator (like Soundtrack Pro), forget about it. The selection of free scores is not even worth mentioning. But I could have lived with this shortcoming because Soundbooth is intuitive and feature rich... I really like the auto heal tool... but nothing can auto heal the hours of work I just lost.

So, other than the MAJOR issue of lost work... I lovED the program and would have given it at least 4 stars. It really does have so many good things for jack-of-all-trades advertising professionals like me. But I'm done with the Soundbooth. I CAN"T afford another problem. In fact, this program makes me insecure about the whole Production Premium Suite.

Being a Mac user (for the creative side of my business), and an avid Adobe fan / user, and now jumping into video production, I had been trying to convince myself that the Adobe Production Premium suit was the better choice than Final Cut Studio (because of the overall program integration). I think this may have changed my mind. Professionals can't afford these sorts of problems... neither can you.

So, until Adobe decides to get serious about every program in their Production Premium Suite and ensure the same professional standards that their rock-solid web and print-based suites, I would NOT encourage a Mac user to go the Adobe Production Premium Suite route.

Although I have not clicked the "Buy" button for Final Cut Studio yet, I feel it must happen soon. For now, I'll be editing in Audacity or Soundtrack for a few days.

And with the addition of the print profiling capability of this kit, I am immediately much closer with the first prints I've tested. Now, I can also profile both dual monitors without an iffy workaround, too.
I wound up making two versions of the printing profile for the same paper, since two ink colors were nearly depleted before I even started the process with my Epson 1400 printer, so that the new replacement inks would be accounted for in the second profile. As my black ink is now nearly gone, too, I'll be going through the somewhat tedious process of using the print colorimeter again, but at least I CAN, now, eh? I bought this mainly looking for replacement software for Roxio V.6 program I had been using a long time. In the Roxio program, a major feature that I loved was the crossfading. However, that older version of Easy CD Creator didn't really have normalizing so I was hoping that Pyro would contain the best of both worlds. Well, yes, you can crossfade & normalize in the editor module of the program but it's pretty time-consuming and much more cumbersome than the Roxio method of having the track titles laid out - in Pyro, you have to do this in an editor view. One other major problem I had was it took me a few days and a couple of software update downloads before I got the program to recognize my burner. The version I bought was 1.0.2 and I finally discovered - through no help from Cakewalk support - that I needed to download the 1.5 patch and then it finally recognized my burner. Man, I was messing around with the IMAPI setting in my computer, the System Admin tools, and nearly pulling my hair out before I tried the latest download. But, having said all that, it does appear to be a basically good program for the recording engineer in you and if you have the time to spend with it. It's just not what I was looking for but it may prove to be a great program for you.
UPDATE: Since getting used to this program and learning how to do the things with it I wanted it to do, I'm actually kind of getting hooked on it. So, if you do decide to buy Pyro Audio Creator, just be sure to download the latest patch for 1.5 for it to work properly with XP. Someone said that support was non-existent, I've found that to not be the case. Their email support will get back to you in a few days after you contact them. This is a good CD for beginers. I bought this from shop and finished it in a few hours. The video on the CD are helpful, althogh only a few pieces. You can play the video again and again to focus on the finger actions. In addition, the software is designed in an elegant style - you feel as if a well-dressed piano teacher were working with you rather than a tool in front.

I give four stars. Wish the ARCMEDIA publish software to teach piano at medium level. I am willing to pay for more $ than this CD. Again, this CD is worth the money. I was so impressed with The Oddity (ARP Odyssey), that I went ahead and bought the entire line of softsynths by G-Force/M-Audio, i.e., The Oddity (ARP Odyssey), M-Tron Pro (Mellotron), VSM (Virtual String Machine, including Arp Omni, Soline, etc.), Minimonsta (Minimoog synth), and impOSCar (recreation of UK OSCar analog synth). The prices are VERY affordable, thus why I purchased all five. I especially like the Minimonsta with the "Melohman Octave" (an octave of reverse-colored keys with LEDs to indicate the preset modulations, kinda like the reverse-colored keys on a Hammond organ--just press a key and the entire sound can change, with adjustable morphing time--it's COOL!). You can't go wrong with ANY of these G-Force/M-Audio softsynths. Just buy 'em, you'll be happy you did. Some of them even have great preset banks by artists such as Rick Wakeman, etc.! Super Duper Music Looper Best Quality

This Product is outdated. It will work on Windows XP but not Windows Vista or newer. The company that made this product no longer exists. And the company that purchased the company right to this software is Sony. They instantly put out a renamed version of this product under the Sony label and did not make any updates for this version of the product.

With that all said the product for the purpose it was design for is great. Direction are a little lacking. If you have a system that can be Windows XP then you can use this product. It is a great learning tool for kids to play with to learn about mixing music.

Or you can go to Microsoft and and download Virtual PC 2007 if available at the time your reading this review. You can run windows XP inside of Virtual PC ( a licensed version of XP) and run Super Duper Music Looper inside of the Virtual PC Windows XP.

My kids (ages 7-14) use this program and find it to be intuitive and easy to learn. The interface is inviting and flexible--allowing many forms of input and output, variations in duration of individual frames, pan and zoom, and "apply to all frames" buttons, and even chroma keying for greenscreen-type special effects. Sound is also very easy to import and stretch. I used several similar programs yet most were not as clearly laid out and only the much more costly versions would let me play around with higher HD resolution. I use a firewire camera for live & DV animation (claymation, mostly) but am starting to import folders of single 1920 by 1080 photos I take with a very basic JVC HD cam's still photo option (which I trigger w/ remote to avoid camera vibration). The importing goes flawlessly and the frames run smoothly on my 2 ghz G5 power pc Mac. Also, I had 2 amazingly quick and informative responses from the company when I had questions. If you have a need for a master mixing console but don't want to pay the price...MixPad is a great compromise. It is the digital replacement of using a multitrack recorder and a mixing console. I like to record and remix songs with MixPad, but I also like to combine MixPad with WavePad and create my own sounds by taking clips from WavePad's sound library or NCH Software's Tone Generator and play them forwards, backwards, fast, slow, change pitch, apply effects, filter, sample clips and portions of waveforms then combine them for a completely different sound. This is how synthesizer sounds were created before the age of digital sampling. But instead of being limited to 3-4 oscillators to combine waveforms, I can now combine an unlimited number of waveforms for the exact sound I want.

On Amazon right now, NCH Software is selling NCH Audio Suite for under 60 dollars that bundles MixPad with: WavePad Audio Editing Software, Switch Audio File Converter, RecordPad Sound Recording Software, and Zulu DJ Software (audio mixing). MixPad also has the functionality of Express Rip and Express Burn built into it to rip and burn cds. All of these software programs add up to over 200 dollars if purchased individually.

I have used Nero Vision 4 from my Nero Vision 7 Ultra Edition Enhanced successfully before to burn DVDs, but now all of a sudden when I click on "Burn" the program puts up a message saying "Patent Activation Required". When, as instructed, I then click on the "Download" button, I get a message saying "Patent activation failed" and am given only the option of aborting the program. (I am running no firewall.)

I have Windows Movie Maker (WMV), but can't use it to burn AVI to DVD so I bought this VS7 primarily for that function and it works great.

It's simple enough IMO to use although WMV feels easier for making
photo slideshow projects. Got the software for $8.50 with S&H so it's worth it for the simple projects.

I purchased this program to make backup copies of certain DVDs in my home collection so that my kids could watch and handle the copies without damaging the originals. This program worked wonderfully and I later purchased the upgrade to version 8. One of the things I didn't like about it was that you couldn't deselect certain portions of the DVD that you didn't want copies but I found a patch on the internet that solved that problem. I purchased this a while ago, but haven't use it until recently.... What can I say.... At first glance - the typical bloated software that comes from Adobe - takes forever to load (I run it on a fairly new dual core 2.2 GHz machine with 2 Gigs of RAM), but I am used to this type of slowness coming from Adobe (it is the same with their Acrobat, Photoshop etc.... - they had to create a special, permanently running in backgrounds module of software in order to avoid the unpleasant waiting....). What really got me is that this never actually worked for larger videos. Initially I used it for relatively small videos (10-15 min total) and it was OK. Once I started creating an hour long video by adding several 1-5 min. clips, it crashed. Application just closed, without any message or warning!. Tried several times, it ALWAYS crashed. This software is totally useless.

Finale introduced computerized music notation combined with MIDI capabilities to us back in the mid-80's and they have continued to raise the bar every year. For serious composers, there really is no other option. Do not take the reviewers that claim Sibelius is better too seriously. Sibelius created a very pretty interface with the ability to perform simple tasks, but it is very limited. Their interface style has limited them from being able to perform nessasary functions (like the ability to undo) and they have painted themselves into a corner in the sense that there is not a lot room to add new features. Most Sibelius users I know gave up Finale after 2 weeks of using it because it didn't have little cartoon characters that popped out and explained everything to them. Creating software is a compromise of power vs. ease of use. Finale has really hit the perfect mark with this version. It continually becomes easier to use with every version but is not willing to compromise its power.
