I've only used one other video editing product (by Adobe)...and this one compares favorably. Vegas is not intuitive, and some of the defaults are conservative (low quality, low-res output), but you can upgrade the settings. The instructions are sparse, and some items arent' intuitive, but once you get the hang of it (several hours later for me), it is efficient.
